Trains, Planes and Automobiles

When we woke up yesterday morning in Athens, I have to admit I had my doubts that I we would actually make it to the town of Kromeriz today…it seemed too far away to be real.

Starting out in the morning leaving Athens, on our way to the Metro
I'll break down our day into numbers.

Hours on airplane: 3 hours, Athens to Berlin

Countries visited: 3 (Greece, Germany and Czech Republic)

Metro systems mastered: Athens, Berlin, and Prague

Miles covered by bus: 221 (or 5 hours on a bus)

Miles covered by car: 168
Average speed: 140km/hour (we were the slow ones, believe it or not)

Number of frankfurters eaten by Jon: 1

Number of potato pancakes eaten by Margot: 2
loading up at the Berlin bus station
made it to Prague and the airport to pick up our car
Potato pancakes and fried cheese...my favorite Czech foods!

By the time we reached Prague, we were elated to see familiar sights, that we remembered how to ride the metro system, and had an amazing sense of coming to our other home on the other side of the world. We finally reached Kromeriz around midnight...nothing short of miraculous that we made all those connections and didn't lose anything along the way.  After a good nights sleep, we are now preparing to go meet Standa and Dita for their wedding! Lots of wedding pictures to come!

Na Sheldanou!
